WHERE DJ KING BEGAN
London-born and bred DJ King (Nathan King) was heavily influenced in his late teens by watching the mixing skills of some of the hottest DJs on the scene at the time like Jazzy Jeff, DJ Quick and DJ EZ. After purchasing a set of decks, he perfected his skills to become the talented mixologist he is today. His roots began in Hip-Hop and R&B, where he introduced himself to crowds by creating invite-only club nights called 'Lavish', ensuring the “who's who” of the party scene were always in attendance. Soon after, DJ King was in demand to play at various events and clubs around London (e.g. Funky Buddha, Aura, Penthouse, 5 Cavendish, Embassy, The Mayfair club etc) and other UK hotspots. Word spread like wild fire and he developed a loyal following that quickly progressed to a commercial level, securing residencies for Yellow-hammer Bars across their 24 venues. In that time, he also made radio station appearances, created highly sought after mix CDs, and even bagged a nomination for DJ of the Year on Capital Xtra (formerly Choice FM)
DJ King made his mark opening shows on both legs of Tinie Tempah's 2010/2011 'Disc-Overy tour', which opened the door for him to work with Emeli Sande and Wretch 32, proving to himself and others that hard work pays off. Through music industry circles, DJ King was recommended to the award-winning producer, Naughty Boy (has worked with Rihanna, Emeli Sande, Ed Sheeran, Cheryl Cole, Sam Smith, Jennifer Hudson) who he invited to join him on his 2014 International and festival tour. To date, he has performed to crowds totalling hundreds of thousands during his sets at Bestival, 'I Heart Music' Festival, V-Festival, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Azurara Beach Party and the London O2 Arena numerous times. His work has seen him travel worldwide to destinations such as the USA, Beirut, Ayia Napa, Germany, Portugal, Corfu, Dubai, Ibiza, Malta and Croatia just to name a few.
The confident, fun and energetic DJ King keeps his finger on the pulse across multiple genres in the music scene from Commercial House/Dance to Pop to RnB/Hip-Hop, ensuring he’s continuously in touch with what his audiences will love to hear. This has been reflected in the unceasing opportunities he’s had and continues to do so, playing across the UK and worldwide. In times where a DJ is as big as the artist, DJ King is certainly making his mark and shows no signs of slowing down!
